IVF Doctors in Houston

Hello Ladies,

I hope there are a few ladies on here who have been through IVF.

Quick question: I have been going back and forth with 2 (Houston IVF & Houston Fertility institute) different clinics now and need to make up my mind on which clinic to use for our IVF.

Do you ladies have any experience with either?

Re: IVF Doctors in Houston

  • I don't have experience with either.  I got pregnant with IVF with Dr. Roach at North Houston Center for Reproductive Medicine and cannot say enough good things about her.  If you haven't, check sart.org for the IVF success rates.  Maybe that'll help with your decision.  Best of luck to you.

  • Yes, I used Houston Fertility Institute.  First IVF was a success.  I was very happy with them.
  • Thanks for the response ladies,

readyforbaby, what HFI location did you use? The fondren location seems so busy and not very organized.

  • Checked out Dr Roach stats and it quite impressive. They however do not have cycles with PGD which is why we are pursuing IVF.
  • Mainly the Fondren location.  I always went 1st thing in the morning for b/w etc. so I never found it to be too busy.  Unless things have changed, I always felt that they were organized and I would get the results of b/w in a timely manner.
  • I am currently using Dr. Dunn at the Fertility Specialist of Houston. I can't say enough about him and his nurse staff.
  • we used houston ivf and were very happy with them.  we attempted several treatments with them and had some failure, but got pg with them and had miscarriage.  as we were saving for another round, we got pg on own.  what a blessing, after 4 years of trying!
  • I saw Dr Gill at HFI at the Fondren location generally. I mostly went there because I wanted to stick with Dr Gill....  I had my post-IVF monitoring done at the Katy location. It can be a little crazy there, yeah, I agree. But I always got into my appointments quickly.

If you're going to have IVF the procedure will be done at either the Fondren or the Tomball location, since that's the only place they do that sort of thing. Monitoring can be done anywhere.

Our first try worked for us, as well.

  • I saw Dr McKenzie at Houston IVF.  DH and I both really liked her.  I got pg on my first IVF but did some other treatments with them prior to IVF which were unsuccessful.  They definitely aren't the cheapest clinic in town but the care I received there was wonderful and I would definitely recommend them.
  • Thanks Ladies for the response.

Quizzle, I live in Katy as well and was planning to do my IVF monitoring at the Katy office. Were you monitored by a Doctor or was it the nurses?

I saw the nurses, generally. I saw the doctors a time or two, although I know some people do see the doctors more. It didn't bother me much -- I could make an appointment to see the doctor if I wanted to, but it usually had to be later in the day since they do procedures so much in the morning. Everything was reviewed by the RE before I got any instructions, too.

Dr Haddad works out of the Katy office, and I really like him. He did one of my scans, if I recall correctly, and he also did one of my hysteroscopies.

  • My RE for my IVF was in Austin.  We went with him b/c he's a family friend and we got a discount -- plus he had great stats.  But, had I stayed in town, he HIGHLY recommended HIVF over any other clinic.

I love love love Dr. Haddad!
