Who else was diagnosed with placenta previa at big u/s?

We just had our big u/s today (although we aren't finding out the sex), and the tech said I have placenta previa.  My doctor said it's no big deal and will most likely move on its own.  Who else was diagnosed with this early on, and did it correct itself?

  • congrats on being half-way thru, wow, time flies!

I don't have it but I know you'll get a bunch of responses from others.

Hope everything else looked good on the U/S

  • Yay for a healthy bebe!

I had complete placenta previa at 20 weeks, partial placenta previa at 25 weeks, and it was resovled completely by 30 weeks. I did not need a c/s. Easier said than done, but try not to worry.

  • I have at least two friends who were diagnosed with placenta previa that corrected itself well before the end.  My fingers are crossed for you!
  • Hi April!  I had it and it moved up by 28 wks.  GL!

  • Thanks, everyone!  I guess my post didn't come across as positive as it should have.  We are thrilled that everything is healthy with our little one!  :-)  I'm just a little nervous about this placenta previa situation, but it sounds like it is probably no big deal.  I appreciate all of the responses...keep them coming!  :-)

  • I had a complete placenta previa that never resolved, but I was a twin pregnancy. It is my understanding that most previas do resolve. My dr's were more concerned about pre term labor than my previa. Best of luck.

  • Hello and congratulations on your little one! I had placenta previa at my big u/s as well. It never went away and she was also in a transverse position the entire time. It was a bit scary, but I had to have a c-section eventually. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. So bottom line, I really hope it goes away and most of the time it does. But if it doesn't, you'll be fine as well as long as your doctor monitors you really well.
