Is Benadryl (or its generic) safe?

I ate a few too many pieces of banana bread yesterday and the day before knowing quite well that it doesn't agree with me. Well my lips are a little swollen now and I have a small rash around my mouth. I knew it would happen and it serves me right for eating it!

I tried to call my dr but they are already gone for the day. I also checked safefetus.com and it seems okay but I thought I would ask on here.

    According to my doctor it is. My doctor told me to take it when I was sick in 2nd tri just make sure nothing else is in it.

    My doctor also told me it was fine. She recommended using it at night a way to try and get some sleep because I was dealing with some dental problems.

    I have had to take it a few times and my OB said it was fine.  Just do not exceed the recommended dose on the bottle.

    Helps me sleep like a charm.  My OB told me to use it if I can't sleep or allergies.

    My Dr. told me to take it to help me sleep during the uncomfortable stage in 3rd Tri.  I used a generic form and it worked like a charm and saved my sanity.  Believe me you want to cherish your sleep.  I haven't had a good nights rest in 5 months.
