An infant sound machine AND a Sleep Sheep (I think this is like the seahorse but it doesn't glow... it's more cuddly. Has a heartbeat, whale sounds (I think), and a song or two) AND lullaby CD's?
Also, we live in an 850 square ft condo, all one floor. Do we need a baby monitor?
Re: Experienced Moms-- Do I need...
We have the seahorse and an app on the itouch for sleeping sounds. I like to use the seahorse during jammie, lotion and feeding time (our routine) and the white noise on the app while I bounce with her.
As for the monitor, I think it depends on the layout of your condo.
We have a sound machine and a monitor...and that's what I had for DD#1 too...I've only heard of the seahorse and sheep on here...somehow we survived without them
Oh...and the sound machine is just because we have a dog who tends to bark, so it's more to drown out noises than anything else!
We live in a 2 bedroom condo just under 900 square feet and yes, we have a video monitor which I love and a sound machine.
I find both very useful. Our baby sleeps through the night in the second bedroom so the video is nice to watch her from our room-- I don't have to check on her if I can't hear her. The sound machine works wonders to help put her to sleep and stay asleep.
I really love DS's sleep sheep. We have the travel one, which is cheaper. It plays for 45 minutes- that can't be beat!
We have a cheap small fan in his room that provides circulation and white noise- cheap double solution.
We do have lullaby CDs for the car, but they are musicians WE like.
I place a huge amount of value in our baby monitor, but we have two floors.
