I think I read it on here last week but did someone say once you hear the hb(s) at 8 weeks your risk goes down significantly?
I saw the hbs at 7 weeks and heard them today at 8 weeks. The babies are measuring right on schedule. I was wondering if I can breathe a little now!!

Re: Risk of m/c question
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

There are differing opinions on this one.
But, both my Peri and RE told me that your chance decrease a bit when you can see/ hear the heartbeat via ultrasound and that the big decrease isn't until you can hear the heartbeat via doppler (usually 10-12 weeks).
I think it gets lower at 8 wks and then at 12wks, but I think when people say 'when you hear h/b', it doesn't mean the simulated h/b. I think you can't hear the h/b on a doppler until 10wks or so. I could be wrong, but the initial h/b you hear on the u/s machine at 8wks is simulated. A strong h/b is always a good indicator....
