I just started reading it and it really gives alot of evidence for attachment parenting. I know some people have said people criticized them for being AP or you just want to explain why you are AP. This book shows how the body responds to stress and to comfort. It also makes the case for why CIO is not the best method for sleep training. It definitely made me feel better about wearing DS and holding him, even when we sleep!
There's also lots of stuff for older kids on discipline and just on how to raise your kids with lots of joy. I thought it was interesting reading and definitely recommend it!
Re: Science of Parenting - If you question AP
It's pretty easy. It's divided into different sections and has key points so you don't have to read it cover to cover. I haven't read the discipline section yet cause it's not really relevant right now. But I was fascinated by the research about how baby is developing outside of the womb. Cause even though I'm AP, sometimes I do wonder if I'm nuts for holding DS so much. There's just a lot of pressure to do things a different way. So it just reassured me that I am doing what is best for baby.
Now if he insists on being held when he's 16, I'll definitely do CIO!
