Rug burn?

My 18 mo son came home yesterday from daycare with a pretty bad "rug burn" on his face (nose, chin, forehead). The teachers said he fell from the slide. I am not sure how this happened, but it looks worse today.

How can I treat it? Should I call the doctor? I never heard of rug burns, and I am puzzled how bad it actually is.

I'm shocked that you have never had rug burn before. I wouldn't call the doctor for it. It usually looks worse than it is. You could put some Neosporene (sp?) on it.
