Has anyone paid a babysitter?

I have a lead on a babysitter, which is fantastic, since both of our families (and therefore, free childcare) live out of town. A colleague of mine's teenaged daughter has offered to babysit for us, and man, could we ever use an evening out.

Has anyone paid a babysitter, or do you have any idea how much it costs in Toronto? When I babysat... 400 years ago... I got paid anywhere between 7 and 10 dollars an hour (the $10 was for overnights).

I want to have an idea of the going rate before I contact this girl.
