As I was driving home from class tonight, I realized that I forgot to tell DH that I have to be at my OB's office at 9am for the 3 hour glucose test.

The conversation is as follows:

me: I have to be at the doctor's office at 9am tomorrow for that 3 hour glucose test since I failed the 1 hour.

DH: How did you fail?

me: Well it's not a multiple choice test... my blood sugar just came back high so they have to test further for gestational diabetes.

DH: Oh, isn't that what your brother has?

me: Gestational diabetes?

DH: Yeah!

me: Seriously. Gestational diabetes?

DH: Yeah!

me: Do you know what gestation means?

DH: *silence*

me: Gestation = pregnancy. How would Seth have gestational diabetes?

I don't know whether to laugh or smash my head on my desk. My older brother has type 1 diabetes.

This is exactly why DS will not be attending Columbus City Schools.

My husband thinks the baby HAS to arrive by the due date even though I keep explaining it isn't an expiration date.

My DH has no clue what that is either. I told him I had to go for a 1hr next Monday and he asked what it entailed and when I told him he just went "uh-huh..." and then proceeded to ask if I was getting an ultrasound afterwards. Hm..more interested in seeing the baby then anything! :oP

Lol. Poor guy thought he was close. I agree about Columbus City Schools; after those dumbasses graduated my sister when she had missed over half the days she was supposed to be there I vowed if I stayed in Ohio my kids would be going to the catholic schools like I did.

They're just horrible. I went to Dublin City Schools. (A suburb of Columbus) and even though DH likes to say that "Well, not every family can afford to live in Dublin and go to the best public school system", I still am proud that I spent all of my pre-college there. It's a great educational system, and I'd like for my own children to go through Dublin City if not a private school.

The fact that superintendent Gene Harris didn't send her own kids there speaks volumes. My brother lives in Dublin city schools and they are the best in the area. I'm glad my mom gave me the choice to go to the parochial hs near us, I don't think I would have even gone on to college had it not been for the staff there.
