What happened today?!

So, I had Aubrey's 4 month appointment, then a dentist appointment for myself, just so happen to be gone all day, and this is what happens? Hmm I'm pretty glad I missed that. While the drama can be entertaining, I'd hate to think it is at the expense of anyone's feelings! I just hope this board doesn't become a joke for the lurkers to flame at. I admit some of the posts can be pretty ridiculous, but I would like to feel comfortable posting here in the future!

    It got pretty crazy while we were away!

    Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it was an isolated incident.

    So how did Aubrey's appt. go?

    Oh, great. (: She got shots but is showing no signs of crabby or fever! She is in the 35th percentile for her weight and 75th for her height. Therefore she is looooooooooooong and leaaaan. If only I had that curse. :P But, the pedi reaffirmed my suspicions... that she's perfect!

    I was gone too. 

     

    I will admit, some of the things posted on this board make me  scratch my head, but I have the decency to just not say anything. I hope the lurkers simmer down a little (and stop lumping us all together like every woman on here is the same).

    Yeah. I usually try to avoid the drama on the Bump.

    Sounds great! Glad she's doing well with the shots. I'm very curious as to how my boy's gonna do with his. The measurement thing is always interesting to know. She sounds like an easy baby to carry around, at least!

    yeah, I'm a little disappointed with some people today. I just caught up on the "fun".

    for some of us, this is our only "safe" place. I hope I can still post openly here without people with nothing better to do jumping down my throat.

    I just got back and check the board and all I can say is wow! I am also glad that I wasnt here to see all of that. 

    I do think those posters had some good points but the way they came accross was so WRONG. 

    I have to admit that getting pregnant was not smart in the position of some ladies here (myself included) but I really dont think you should feel embarrased about the situation. If you already made the "mistake" then own it and do the best you can. And even before I get flamed Im not saying DD or any other child for that matter is a mistake.

    Yeah - I personally can't say I'm proud that I was a pregnant teenager. (I use was because it's technically past tense... I turned 20 in January, big deal!). I am, however, proud of how I handled myself. Aubrey absolutely was not a purposeful pregnancy. But I definitely can't imagine how my life would be if she hadn't come along.

    I understand the perspective of some of the posters, but I am not a fan of how they chose to come across!

    I hope this remains to be a safe and comfortable place for the single parents on the Bump.

    This was actually what I was trying to say but you said it way better than I did. 

    I dont know why girls that get abortions are sometimes deemed smarter than the ones that choose to actually have the baby. Not trying to make this a pro-life / pro-choice type of post.

    I think the smartest decision is the one that is best for you. I think some people do not always make decisions that are the best for them, though, whether it is because of poor judgment or immaturity. I weighed out the pros/cons of my choices and then made an informed decision. I also have a lot of support  from my family, making the financial piece much less of an issue.

    As much as I hate to say it, there are a lot of teenage moms that give teenage moms a bad reputation.  However, I have been extremely forunate to meet some very hardworking respectable 17 and 18 year old mothers.  Yes age can play a huge factor, but it honestly depends on the person and their ability to grow up when placed into the role of a parent.  I have met 25 year olds that have been less in control and immature in regards to becoming a parent whether planned on not.

    I wondered where you were!  Hope the appointments went well.  Yah, sometimes the posts are pretty crazy, almost seem like MUD...but nonetheless, ppl need to feel comfortable posting and sometimes they don't have anywhere to turn. 

    Welcome back!  They've pretty much all ran back to their original boards...w/ a few stray trolls here and there.
