daycare

Hi everyone,

I have started looking into daycare and private care but have realized that it is very expense.  Does anyone have an suggestion?  Maybe some options that I haven't though of or don't know about.  I am a school teacher and due in June.  I have to go back to work in Aug.

PS If your child is in daycare in Tamarac, Sunrise, or Coral Springs area please suggest your place.

 Thanks

Re: daycare

  • I don't have suggestions for those areas, as we are in Miami, but I just wanted to say to try to negotiate / prorate your daycare. I was paying full price for DD to attend daycare only 4 days per week. When I cut back to 3 days per week, I wrote an email to the director saying that I was pulling her out and had a nanny (part-time) that was slightly more than full time at daycare. When I said that, they agreed to allow me to only pay for 3 days per week. My MIL is the director of a daycare as well and she has said that daycares have been hurting financially with the economy and they are all negotiationg prices...can't hurt to ask! GL!

  • Both of my kids go to ABC Workshop in West Coral Springs. Alex is in the 4 year old class and Max is in the 1 year old class. I have loved EVERY teacher they have had there, in fact, I use some of them for weekend sitters when I want a night out with my husband. The school is smaller and everyone knows everyone. I love how involved the teachers and students are.
