Did you get a lot of toys or pacifiers? ?They seem like things that people would buy on their own so I feel weird registering for them but i also don't want to get just clothes and such. Should I put them on there anyway or just trust that people like to buy cute baby things?
Ugh, the wedding registry was much easier (and at the time I thought that was hard!)?
Re: Those who already had their shower
We got a few stuffed animals/toys/cloth rattle thingies. I didn't register for any toys until the very end (and then I registered for an FP ring stacker and a Dwell fabric block set) because my registries were getting bought out quickly.
The only pacifiers we got were the ones we registered for.
I threw on two pacifiers and maybe three toys that I wanted to remember to get because I liked them and will buy them myself. I figured people could pick out toys just like clothes. The only clothes I put on were packaged onesies and gowns.
I agree - wedding registry was much easier.
I did not register for toys but I received some. I would register for everything you want and need so that your guests have options.
I got a few toys and a few pacifiers. I'd say don't register for them. Partially b/c I think it's a pain in the a$$ to buy those items off a registry (it's hard to find the exact ones that are scanned) and also b/c I'd rather have those little items to complete than bigger ticket ones.
We didn't have anything like that bought off our registry - they were purchased elsewhere or outside of it. So, when we got a couple unneeded/duplicate items, we returned and used the store credit for pacis, toys and other little items.
If there are specific toys or pacis you really like/want, then definitely register for them. Quite a few of the gifts at my shower came with a paci or small toy in the bow. Maybe put some of the larger toys and playmat on there, and one or two pacis so people know which brand you prefer.
I didn't get toys or pacifiers (toys were on my registry)- people got things on my registry or clothes (I didn't register for clothes b/c I knew I would get a variety of sizes and people like picking out baby clothes.
I got a ton of pacifiers but only about 4 that I will be using. I registered for the Tommee Tippee paci's because I wanted those and therefore I received them. But, a lot of my friends bought a pack of pacifiers to go in with presents and there were tons on my diaper cakes...
If you want to use specific pacifiers, register for them. If you don't have a preference, I wouldn't.
I would also register for toys... I didn't and we only got one toy...
everyone's friends and family are different. Mine are all strict registry people. But instead of accenting gifts with blankets, or NB clothes, everyone got us bibs and 6-9 clothes. Everyone tried to avoid the stereotypical norm. So I have two outfits until he is in 6-9, and I really don't think I need 15 different bibs.......
register for everything. Even if people are anti registry, it can help others with a starting off point of what you need.

Actually, I only got the toys and pacifiers that I registered for!
