Re: 2nd Tri Check-In
QOTD: MY energy levels are MUCH better than they were in 1st tri but I do get tired quicker than I did pre-PG.
Update: We get the official word on the sex of Baby B on Thursday - I am super excited (and secretly/ slighting hoping we are still on team pink as that is what I have been mentally preparing for over the last month of "I am still guessing girl" ultrasounds).
Update: DH put our crib and dresser/changer combo together yesterday! The nursery is still a mess - still alot to clean out, but it's on it's way. It is SO weird to look in that room and see a crib sitting in there. But a good weird.
QOTD: I have more energy than first tri MOST of the time...but I do tire more quickly than usual, and I am exhauseted by the end of the work week. I
naps when I'm off work.
QOTD: My energy level is definitely better. I am still going to sleep early at night but I can at least function during the day without wanting to put my head down on my desk and take a nap.
Update: Half-baked today!!!! I also broke down and ordered Baby Bargains so we can start figuring out what to register for. We have done nothing so far!
QOTD: My energy level sucks again. I've been first tri level exhausted the last couple weeks. Falling asleep on the couch at 8:30...ugh. Although I did have my most physically active day (went shopping for quite a few hours) since I got pregnant yesterday, but was completely exhausted by 5.
Update: Bought some things for the nursery and the first articles of clothing this weekend...I think I am finally believing that we are going to get a baby out of this!!
I have to schedule a repeat ultrasound to look at his heart again (he was being stubborn the first time) and some repeat titers to make sure that I am not RH sensitive...my last results were a little high...hopefully it is still the Rhogam working its way out of my system. So I am super excited to see him again!! We are inviting our moms in this time since this might be the last time (and I realized that my mom was sad that I never invited her.....oops)
Update: Had 16 wk apt last Thursday. Everything is still going great. Next apt is the big 20 wk, so I am anxiously awaiting. I my gut instinct still says boy, but we will see!
Question: My energy level is ok. Much better then 1st tri. Still go to be early and when I get a bad headache for get about it, I am done. I started exercising last week (walking and swimming) and that seems to help keep my energy going all day.
I believe you did!
QOTD: I've been feeling great since around 14 weeks, so I can't complain. I've been a bit more sleepy in the past week or so, but I think it's due to work being crazy rather than the baby.
UPDATE: Growth scans have all shown baby to be measuring right on schedule, even a little bit ahead. Heartbeat has been in the 160's and she's been kicking up a storm in there.
QOTD: I have way more energy than I did 1st tri, although my energy is no where near pre-preg. But I am NOT complaining!
Update: I have my 16w appt tomorrow and I can't wait to see my baby girl again. I have been semi-secretly freaking out since I haven't seen her in 4 weeks. I have been getting these brutal headaches that last for hours. I didn't have those during 1st tri, why now?!
Can you add me, I'm due 8/31!
QOTD: My energy level is slowly getting better than it was in the 1st tri.
QOTD: Oh my gosh this is my biggest problem. I am totally exhausted and I have a really hard time being a good, fun mom to Trig in the process. I really just feel like laying around. And the reason I know I'm not just being lazy is that I don't even feel like going out on dates with DH. I'd much rather just save the $ on a babysitter and just watch a movie after Trig goes down. And I am usually the social butterfly! I hope I don't feel like this the whole pregnancy....
Update: Ultrasound next week, hopefully we'll find out the sex. I'm really excited, DH is going to be able to come and that's so great. I think it's a girl, personally, but I honestly would be thrilled either way - I get either a GIRL or a BROTHER for Trig and either makes me really happy.
The bigger update right now that has me waiting with bated breath is that MATCH DAY is Thursday and we find out where my DH matched for residency. Hopefully, this will mean that a trip back to Texas (permanently!) and saying goodbye to the constant traveling. It's been fun, but now with 1 baby and another on the way, I'm ready to buy a house and settle in!!!
Update: I have the glucose test today. Registering is done and we started on the baby's room. I finally feel like we are getting somewhere.
QOTD: My energy is fantastic compared to 1st trimester. I have to agree with pp that it is not the same as pre pregnancy, but I am content with energy that I have.
Update: On day four of bed rest, and still struggling with it, but we do what we must. Looking forward to confirming what we are having on Thursday.
QOTD: Just as my energy was really picking up I got put on bed rest, so now I am trying to figure out how to stay lazy.
can you please add me? i am due on 8/21.
QOTD: my energy level is much better than it was in the first trimester, but i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that i don't feel like i am going to be sick every second of the day any longer. i still go to bed very early, but am able to make it past dinner time now
Update: I did some nursery organizing this weekend. Stella will be sharing her room with her sister or brother. I went to Ikea with my MIL yesterday and we got a great storage unit for toys, a hanging stuffed animal storage deal and Stella's new dresser showed up. The new baby's stuff will go in the changing table drawers. It's going to be a tight fit, but we'll make it work. Now I just need to figure out where I can borrow another crib. I don't want to buy another one.
QOTD: I think I've turned a corner. I haven't thrown up in a week and I do feel like my energy is returning a bit. The 2nd trimester is so much better than the first!
qotd: i was feeling much more energetic than i did in 1st tri, but lately have been dragging. i think it's mostly due to the fact that it's getting harder and harder for me to fall asleep at night and sleep through the night, so i am more tired during the day. i also think being on the couch all day everyday is not helping my energy levels.
update: my cervix is short but holding steady. the babies are on track with singletons of their same gestational age so the dr is very happy with that and my belly is measure about 6 weeks ahead right now, which he is also happy about. his feeling is the bigger the better since the odds are the twins will arrive early.
QOTD: My energy level is ok except for not sleeping much due to a sick toddler for the past two weeks. I am taking it easy though and asking for help on the weekends to manage DS.
Update: My follow up to my cerclage went well....cervix is over 3.4 or so with the cerclage. I am still cautious on what I do. I am just that way ...just want to make sure I am doing everything I can to keep this baby baking full term. We found out last week at 14wks that they think the baby is a girl! We are so excited, but haven't bought much for the baby yet.
Update: Tomorrow is our big U/S to find out the genders & do the anatomy scan! Our peri has not attempted to guess at the sexes yet, so we have NO clue. We're so anxious and excited! I'll also be getting my cervix checked, and blood drawn to for the AFP test and to re-check my TSH and iron levels.
QOTD: I definitely felt like I turned the corner last week in terms of my energy. I feel much better in the mornings when I get up and not so much like a zombie. I'm still exhausted by the end of the day and fall asleep on the couch around 8:30pm, but I guess that's normal. My nausea is also getting a little better & my appetite is definitely increasing. I am getting hungry every 2 hours or so. I'm having a lot more good days than bad, and for that I'm thankful!
I'm officially team pink. It's a little girl for us.
I have more energy now but I'm still having m/s. Puking tends to sap my energy very quickly. While m/s is not fun after 3 months of daily puking, I don't want to complaint about it since my baby is healthy and I have no other problems with this pregnancy (unlike last time).
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
No new updates for me except we registered for baby stuff this week.
QOTD: My energy level was bad in the first tri, then got back to normal for the first part of 2nd tri, now it is starting to get bad again.
Baby Beau
TTC #1 for 5 years - Many years, many tears 3 Clomid IUIs all BFN IVF#1 w/ ICSI = BFP!!!! Beta #1 - 157 11dp3dt, Beta #2 - 340 13dp3dt
FET for #2 9/1/11 Beta #1 9dp5dt - 153!!! Beta #2 11dp5dt - 426!!!
Psalm 113:9 He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD.
Update: My name is at the top of the list - this is my last 2nd tri check-in!
I failed the 1-hr glucose screening last week, so I did the 3-hr this morning. The drink itself isn't that bad, but it made me feel pretty gross sitting there for three hours on an empty stomach. I only failed the 1-hr by a little (and I took it right after lunch), so hopefully all is well and I don't have GD.
QOTD: My energy for the most part was way up from the first tri, but last week I also found out that I'm mildly anemic, which would explain why the spacey/sleepy feelings have been slowly returning over the past few weeks. I'm now taking an iron supplement, so hopefully I'll get a little reprieve before the 3rd tri exhaustion sets in!
TTC since 11/05...ectopic pg 4/08...early m/c 6/09...BFP 10/5/09!

Nora B...June 15, 2010...8lbs, 8oz...Med-free birth!
TTC #2 since 7/11...cycle #3 of Clomid + IUI = BFP

Malcolm...September 21, 2012...8lbs, 6oz...Another med-free birth!
QTOD: How is your energy level- the same as 1st tri, almost back to normal? I do have more energy than the 1st tri...not going to sleep at 7:30...but the mornings there still very hard. I hate getting up in the mornings and since becoming pregnant its gotten worse...ugh :P
Update: It's my last 2nd tri check-in! Off to the 3rd tri next week.
Things are a-ok. I'm going to assume I passed my glucose tolerance test because no one called me after my appointment last Tuesday. So I think that's a good thing!
QOTD: I have much more energy than in the 1st tri, but still can't compare to pre-pregnancy. Especially when I do things like climb more than one flight of stairs, exercise or try to stay up past 10pm I really notice it. I generally say I feel pretty good, but I really value my sleep!
