Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Care.com is...

pretty friggin awesome and is helping a ton in the great nanny search we have going on now, but some of the profiles are seriously a joke.

To the 20 yr. olds who obviously don't get what a mommy is looking for... Why would you put a profile pic of you looking like a hooker with your cleavage hanging out making a pouty lip face??? This is not myspace and I def would not hire you to watch my son knowing my husband gets off 2 1/2 hours before I do and will be coming home to you! Attempt a professionalism = FAIL.

But we did find some great candidates on there and you can look up their background checks and get references. Awesome!

  • LOL.  I felt the same way, what were those girls thinking.  I told my DH no way in he!! I was going to use some of those girls

  • We found our nanny on care.com, I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Too bad they don't let them get those little glitter text blinky things with cherries to go on their profiles, ha!

  • I know! I remember thinking the same thing.

We eventually ended up finding the nanny we hired through Craigslist.

  • We found our nanny through Care.com as well.  To me one of the funniest things was often the years of experience.  A 20 year old would list 10 years of experience with kids.  Really?? Ok--I'm not looking for when you started babysitting your little sister--I was looking for real experience.  I've kept my Care.com subscription for a few months just in case something doesn't work out with our current person.  I'm hoping to cancel it next month as long as all continues to go well.
