Sleepsacks in summer?

Do you still use sleepsacks in the summer?

If so, I guess they make a lighter material then the ones I've been using (microfleece and flannel)?  Maybe I just haven't seen them yet.

Re: Sleepsacks in summer?

  • I was wondering the samething.  I have a few that are made of a regular material instead of fleece.

I am assuming that we would still use them because of the air conditioning and the house being cool.

  • Loading the player...
  • we did. they make them in plain cotton.

  • we used the fleece ones during the summer because of the air conditioning and little man is a cold baby anyway (our house is 75 and he is freezing)
  • they have them in cotton and organic cotton. We didn't use them b/c DD was an Oct baby and was too old by the following summer but if #2 does not like to be swaddled (DD hated it!), we'll be using them this summer.

    This.

  • We are still using the sleepsack (halo's) at 19 months, and plan to keepusing it all summer. They now have sizes up to 3T or 4T, so i will keep him in them as long as i can...he hates loose blankets and constantly kicks them off.

I didn't realize you could be too old for a sleepsack?

My first daughter used them until she went to a big girl bed right before she turned two.

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

I did not feel comfortable using them once DD was able to pull up, she's very active and she'd probably have hit her head on the crib if her footing was off.

but reading other posts, it looks like they have some where the feet come out, I didn't know that

The ones I had were size 0-9 months.  Of course DS grew out of them at 2.5 months.  We have some that have an open bottom for summer but I am sure he is too big for them too.

  • Halo makes a toddler one in a mesh material for summer, but I'm not sure if they make it in a smaller size.  Otherwise, just go with the cotton ones.
