If you've used honey for your LO's cough...

How much and how often do you give it?  How long until you see results?  Did you just keep using it as long as your LO had the cough?

Thanks for any info!

  • I think I read you can give it as often as needed. I give her a about a teaspoon full. Usually it works fairly quickly.

  • works quick and i have found that it wears off quick.  i have only done it at night in attempt to get him to fall back asleep and quit coughing.
  • I usually give before bed and nap which is really when his cough acts up. I was told to give as needed. The dose is a spoonful and works pretty much right away.

I have actually tried it for my own cough and think it helps.

  • Our pedi told me to mix 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice together.  I was unimpressed and it didn't really seem to work. Now I am going to try just the honey like the rest of you. Maybe that will give better results.  :)
