It seems Ella is not going to get her tooth between her upper canine and front tooth on the right hand side. MH is missing one adult tooth (he still has a baby tooth) so I am wondering if she just never developed this tooth. Or maybe she is just a super late teether, I don't know!
Just wondering if anyone else had a child who was missing a tooth, what if anything did the dentist do?

Did you just change your screen name???
One of my friend's kids has an adult tooth missing and she's getting an implant. She needs braces first and then will get the implant.
I've been using this name since August when I was pregnant. I just started occasionally posting over here a few weeks ago.

I think you'll want to talk to your dentist about it. They'll know more when they're able to do x rays.
OK, I thought I remembered your pictures of thoes beautiful girls:)
AND as far as your post, I have 7 missing teeth. I had my baby teeth but no adult teeth. I spent an ass load of money getting bridges to fill the gaps. As far as we can gather it is genetic.
For a baby tooth, the dentist won't do anything.
The dentist can take an occlusal or panoramic film to see where her permanent teeth are so if she is missing one, you can get a game plan now. Even though it will be a while before they erupt, most of them can be seen on an xray even though she is little.
I'm saying this guessing that she is your middle daughter and around 2? If that's right, I would just have an occlusal film taken and save the panoramic for when she's a few years older.
Thanks for replying, I knew you worked in the dental field. And you;re right, it is the middle child, she just turned 2 in December. Do you think their is a chance for the tooth to still come in? Or given the family history of my husband missing an adult tooth is it more likely that she is missing the baby tooth?

There could be a chance. What teeth does she have in her mouth now? Does she have the other matching tooth on the other side? I would say that if she does have the matching tooth on the other side and has for a while, it is likely missing. The film I told you about that your dentist would take is so easy for kids and will tell you for sure. She can even sit on your lap while they take it.
There does seem to be a genetic connection, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was missing a tooth. Its definitely not a given though and even if she is missing a baby tooth, the adult tooth may be present.
Yes, she does have the tooth on the other side. Thanks again for the response, I appreciate it!!
