Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Baby to your 6wk pp check?

Did you bring your baby to your 6 week follow up appointment? Did your dr ask you to?

Mine's tomorrow and I'm not sure if I want to bring her or have her stay with Grandma.  My doctors have several offices and the one I'm going to tomorrow, runs a good 20 minutes behind.  (which is annoying, the other ones are fine) but she's only in this office, and they want me to see the one that delivered.

  • I am bringing her... Wasn't told specifically one way or the other.

  • I brought him, I didn't think I would have anyone to watch him, the appt was really quick and the dr was happy to see him. I called ahead of time to ask and they said "most moms" bring their LO's to the  6 week appt to show them off if nothing else:-)
  • Mine is tomorrow along with hers, so she's coming with me for sure.  Our doctor's practice in the same building.
  • I took DD so that I could get a picture of her with my Dr. because we forgot to get one at the hospital. And his nurse also really wanted to see her. It wasn't too bad, she sleeps really well in her carseat so until I took her out for the picture she was out.

  • Lo came with me.  Not an issue at all.
  • Tori will be coming with me to mine!
  • Yes I took my daughter and no they didn't ask me too.  We live about an hour from my doctor's office and I had to stop by work after my appointment so I took her so I could feed her and show her off.
  • I did, kinda wish I didn't, my first appointment my doctor couldn't see me because she had to run to the hospital for a delivery but she did get a peak at DS. I made another appointment with the NP and it was kinda a catastrohe...DS was not happy and crying when we got in the office and the NP had to examine me while I was breastfeeding....it worked and she totally understood but it was awkard
  • My OB's office currently has H1N1 restrictions now allowing any children in the waiting room, so I made arrangements for DH to stay with her.  They didn't ask us to bring her anyway.

  • I brought DS to my appt.  I think it's expected at the birth center.  He slept in the waiting room, then woke up while I was in the exam room but still chatting with the MW student, so I nursed him.  The MW who was there at the delivery held him while we did the exam, but he probably would have been fine sitting in his carseat during my exam if no one was available to hold him.

  • I always bring the baby to the pp check. My OB likes to see the babies.  He also told me that we pronounce her name incorrectly which was funny.

  • im sure youve already found your answer, but im too lazy to read all the posts right now (sorry).  my OB told me at my last visit (before i had LO) that if i ever show up without my baby they will reschedule my appt when i get there to check in...
