Current Moms: Snap N'Go or Travel System?

I had planned on the Snap N' Go, but DH wants the travel system.

We need a jogging stroller--would the travel system and the jogging get us through everything? When/why would I need to add another?

Sorry if this is silly--I'd just like to get this figured out so I'm not buying strollers left and right feeling like I registered for the wrong thing.

Re: Current Moms: Snap N'Go or Travel System?

  • I had a snap n' go, and LOVED it.  I would do that plus a nice jogger.  I would not get a travel system.  The SNG will be great until you are out of the infant seat, and then you can buy something you like that is lightweight and manageable (or just use your jogger).

Everyone I know that bought a travel system abandoned it after a while because they are a huge, heavy PITA.

  • We also opted out of the travel system and just had a SNG...save the money on the travel system and get a nice jogger.

I do not have a travel system, but as PP said, they are huge and I never felt like I was missing anything by not having one.

  • I would say SNG b/c we only used our travel system stroller a handful of times and I just recently sold it. It was a waste of $200.
  • SNG!

  • We have a travel system. The stroller is huge and bulky. I vote Snap N Go.

  • SNG. I had the travel system, and then bought a jogger. Never really did use the stroller after she was out of the infant seat, just used the jogger. I'm just about to sell my travel system since I'm having a boy and the stroller/carseat is pink.

  • I would go the snap n go route but instead of the actual Snap n Go I prefer the Maclaren Easy traveler (same concept but I think its better:)
  • Snap N Go for sure and a nice jogger. When your DC is out of the infant seat, you can look into getting a nice lightweight stroller (like Maclaren volo or something). That's what we did and it's worked great!
  • totally agree....get a SNG (used if you can!) and then when baby is out of the infant seat you really know what you're looking for in terms of the "perfect" stroller.  You will be a much better judge at that point than you are now :)
  • Snap N'Go ALL THE WAY!! Best invention ever!! You will waste you $$ on a travel system!
  • I'm in the minority, but I loved my Travel System, got my money's worth out of it & more.  Just traded in it last month @ Babies R' Us for a double stroller.  Traded it in just before DD's 2nd b-day, so it got 2 good years out of it.  Loved using it when she was in the car seat & then when I just buckled her in.  She could recline if she was tired, and as she got bigger she sat up & used the tray for her toys or snacks/drinks, etc.

We used it all but winter for walks outside, and then I used it in the mall, tons of room for coats, diaper bag, packages, etc. that I couldn't use my smaller stroller (Evenflo umbrella) for.  Yes, a bit bulky, but that wasn't a huge deal for me I guess (and I have a Chevy Impala, so not an SUV or Minivan).

Just depends on each mom I guess, since most on here are for the SNG, but most of the moms in my moms group had the Travel System.
