Paid Family Leave Benefit Question - California

Seeking a clear answer cause EDD never picks up their phone. DH will be taking partial PFL to bond with LO. DH will be cutting his hours weekly and take care of LO. I know we're to fill out Yes for "Will You Continue to Work During Your Family Leave Period". My question is how do we answer the following:
"Date You Last Worked?" Technically he will still be working just lesser hours.
"Date You Will Return to Work?" Technically he never left work.
I hope I get some experience mom to answer my questions.

I used to work for a company that administered FMLA and CAPFL.
The appropriate response would be the last date he worked full-time and the expected date to return full-time.
Have you verified that his company allows him to take his leave intermittently? Some do not and based on the questions on those questions (unless they're using the DOL forms) I would say they would expect him to take his leave full-time. But I could be wrong!
