Hi all!
I am due in 6 weeks and my family has asked us to join them in St. Thomas at the end of July. If baby comes on time, she will be about 3 months old. My parents have a timeshare and we'll practically have our own hotel room. We don't think we'll stay the whole week, maybe a few days. For now, I plan on nursing but not sure how long yet, maybe 3 months, maybe 6 months.
Has anyone traveled with a 3 month before on a plane? What did you bring on your trip? Where did your baby sleep? This is our first child and we're just trying to think of everything before we make a decision.
Any advice, suggestions would be appreciated...thanks!
Re: Would you travel with a 3 month old?
I would, and I even plan to travel with my Ds when he is 7 weeks old!
My suggestion is to know your baby. Be prepared with enough to eat, know his sleep cycle (is he/she has one), and ASK FOR BULKHEAD SEATING. It gives you so much more room. I talked to a lady with a 6 week old and a 2 year old on our flight to Hawaii and she said that bulkhead seating is a lifesaver.
Good luck, and have fun!

We are going to FL with Gianna in 3 weeks, she'll be 8 weeks then. We are taking our pack n play lite travel pnp, her car seat and stroller (all fits together) and a little suitcase for her stuff. I EP, and plan to stop in the next few weeks before we leave. I was just going to buy a pack of diapers and formula when we get there so I don't have to travel with it. I'll obviously pack my diaper bag accordingly for the flight/travel with diapers and formula/bottles pre-made, but it will be easier to stop at walgreens after we check into the hotel and pick that stuff up...less to pack that way.
Most airlines don't charge for seats under 2 years old if you hold the baby, so my husband said he's going to put her in her baby bjorn and he'll hold her. Also, you are usually allowed 2 bags, but in place of 1 bag you can bring 2 large baby items (ie. car seat and pnp). You can gate check the stroller and car seat at the gate and it doesn't count as a large item or carry on or your luggage.
Can you tell I've done my research! lol.
I flew with my DD (5 months old) recently and that part of it isn't an issue. I'd fly with a 3 month old. The only problem I can think of is being somewhere really sunny/hot. You really cannot take LO in the sun AT ALL and it makes it really hard. From what I've heard you cannot use sunscreen until 6 months and it's surprisingly hard to stay out of the sun with LO (at least on our trip it was- and it wasn't even that hot). It REALLY limits what you can do... more than you'd think. I personally wouldn't take my DD somewhere really sunny yet, but it depends on if you want to be outside a lot.
We brought a pack n play for DD to sleep in.
