South Beach diet websites

Anyone have any good reference websites for this diet?  I can seem to find food lists, but they vary and I want to make sure I'm eating the correct things.  Probably going to end up having to buy the book but in the meantime, does anyone here have any good, reliable websites for phase one food lists?

Also, it doesn't say anywhere HOW MUCH of these things you should be having. For example, if you are having low fat cheese, can you have as much as you want?  TIA!

Re: South Beach diet websites

  • I suggest buying the book. When I was around 18 my mom and I tried it and it is very very picky about what you can and can not eat. Especially the first two weeks. The book helps out with how much of what you can eat so I suggest getting it.

  • I never followed the diet, but I bought 2 of the cookbooks and LOVE them.  Seriously, these are my "go to" cookbooks.  The recipes are great.
  • When I lost the weight I gained after my 1st pregnancy - the south beach diet was the ONLY thing that ended up working for me personally.  However, I have read several times that the 1st week is sort of a "shock" week and I was never able to do a complete 2weeks of strickly Phase 1.  However, if you stick to phase 2 and are diligent about it- the weight should start coming off.  I would recommend going to either TJ Max, Marshalls or Goodwill- I've seen the south beach diet book for really cheap at all these places and I would suggest the South Beach Diet cookbook (Yellow Cover) it's great!    Good luck- the diet works if you stick with it.
