Headache for 3 days... :(

Any other remedies besides Tylenol?

Re: Headache for 3 days... :(

  • Are you well hydrated? Aside from tons of water and Tylenol, I don't have anything to suggest.

    Sorry your head hurts! :(

  • have you had any caffeine? normally a coke with tylenol will help a bunch for my headaches/migraines.
  • Caffiene. I have one soda every morning because I get brutal headaches otherwise. Most of the time the soda does it, occasionally I have to take Tylenol, too but that's rare. My OB is the one that told me to do that when I started getting them with S. She said have a cup of coffee and a sudafed, but I don't take either so I do the soda/tylenol thing. I'm still way, way below the daily max recommended for caffeine.

  • Ditto Renee with the water.  Like LOTS and LOTs of water.

  • I had this too.  Besides tylenol, I put a hot, hot washcloth over my eyes and forehead, which seemed to help.
  • Eww...I remember the headache. Ditto the caffeine, tylenol and sometimes a nap or rest.

I hope you feel better soon - that is no fun.

  • Hugs..

I would also recommend some caffeine and tylenol

or sometimes fresh air/a walk helps me.

  • Light exercise of some kind - walk, jog, whatever. 2 extra strength tylenol, 1 can of coke, and a nap should help.
  • My SIL had pregnancy related headaches the first trimester. Her doctor recommended a caffeinated beverage and lots of water.
  • Ok...sipping on a small coffee.  I hope this does the trick!  It's been MONTHS since I've had a regular coffee (even before I got PG.)
  • And I hate to say it, but my OB said once you start getting them you get them the rest of your pregnancy :( BUT, that's why I start every day with a soda - it keeps it at bay. If I don't have it, I get a headache and then it's tough to get rid of. Best to keep it away if you can.

  • I hope the coffee does the trick!

I remember drinking a real coke at 10am in the first tri. It helped my stomach and my head.

  • peppermint essential oil. i rub it on my temples and massage it into the spot between my thumb & pointer finger and it helps sometimes.

neck massage from DH sometimes helps too.?

or a cool dark room when nothing else works. ?

  • I had a headache for most of my 1st trimester.  It was brutal.  I second lots and lots and lots of water.  I also napped when I could which made a big difference.  When it was really bad and even a tylenol wouldn't help I would have some caffine - just a small amount like a few sips made a huge difference.

  • I had HORRIBLE headaches the first tri and nothing seemed to help.  I upped my water to over 100oz a day....limited salt...took tylenol...and had a soda every now and then and I just couldn't get rid of them. :(
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

  • I got the worst headaches with my pregnancy with DS, I am sorry your head hurts.  I don't think of anything but Tylenol that you can take, sorry.
  • I'm not sure if you can take Advil/Ibuprofen or not but two Advil with two Tylenol always does the trick for me

Also lying down with a warm towl on the head should help, try a warm cloth/heating pad on the back of your neck too

    Hope you feel better soon!
