Who's LO has had it? DD was just diagnosed on Tuesday. She has RSV with bronchiloitis, and needs to have neb treatments every 4 hours. The neb doesn't seem to help AT ALL, she still wheezes like crazy & makes momma scared. How long was your LO sick for?
Re: RSV
Lily had it, but we caught it at the very beginning so we never got to the wheezing stages. All total, it only was an issue for about a week. If you feel the nebulizer treatments with albuterol aren't working, call the pedi back, as there are steroid shots that can also help with bronchitis.

we caught at the early stages as well. but I would call the Dr if you're still concerned. he wheezed for about 2-3 weeks. It went away a couple of weeks later. But everytime he is sick we have to bring him in to make sure it's not RSV. Dr told me lots of love and care helps. Saline drops or baby saline spray for the congestion helps with the break down of it all.
Good luck I hope she gets better. I have asthma and I know how it must feel.
Oh, yuck. I'm so sorry. I think we caught it pretty early, even the doc didn't seem TERRIBLY concerned, even though we are. She barely seems to notice that she's not feeling well, but the wheezing is just so scary ... and the neb treatments are awful. I know when she cries its good because she's getting more of it in, but it hurts my heart
I know exactly how you feel! Trust your mommy instinct...you know her better than anyone. When he had it back in January, I took him to the pedi on a Saturday and she said, oh, he's fine, a little congested...just had steriods a week ago. If he's not better by Monday bring him back. Took him back on Monday, diagnosed with RSV, and in the hospital by Tuesday night. And I'm with you on the neb treatments...we have to give Connor Budesinide as well as the albuterol, and it kills me, but like you I know that at least with the crying, he is taking in the medicine. Not sure where you give DD her treatments, but we found that putting him in his infant carrier and pulling the shade up sort of confined the medicine around him, and then we give him toys or his binky to play with.

2 Suggestions--sounds like you are using the mask, which is scary and uncomfortable.
Did your nebulizer come with the piece for kids (mouthpiece)? If so, give it to you your DD to "play with" and she'll likely hold it in her mouth by herself. Lily did.
Also, I usually did her treatments while she was asleep by using the kids mouthpiece right up against her nose. Works like a charm.
DD just got over having it last week. I had a bad cold for a couple weeks, she got a runny nose at first, then it quickly became a lot worse. Took her to the pedi 4 days later (on a Monday), nurse practioner we saw said she was fine and just had a cold/congested. 2 days later, we were back at the pedi's office because her cough was so bad. Saw her actual pedi, he checked her out and diagnosed with RSV, but a minor case of it. (caught it in the early stage), she also had an ear infection. We just got meds for the infection and went out and bought a humidifier and saline drops. She started feeling better by the weekend. Our pedi HIGHLY recommended the humidifier and elevating the crib (head side). But, if you notice LO's breathing is labored, take her back asap or if her cough sounds "dry".
I hope she gets better soon..this was out first illness with DD and it was awful. Knowing you can't do anything for them except just cuddle, cuddle, cuddle! That's all our DD wanted was to be held. Which of course is so easy!
