Disposing Of Diapers?????
How are you planning on handeling this? Are you getting a diaper disposal system like the Diaper Genie or Diaper Champ or do you plan on just throwing them out in the trash after each one? If you have used any of these in the past, give me your recommendations. Thanks!

We are planning on this as well. Diaper Champ (b/c it takes regular trash bags unlike the daper genie) in the nursery and regular trash can down stairs.
When DD was a newborn and we used disposables, we used the diaper champ. Just remember to dump the poop in the toilet and flush first before throwing away the diaper.
Now we use cloth diapers and just throw the dirty in the pail (with pail liner), no trash involved!
It seems a bit excessive/wasteful to wrap each individual diaper in a bag (unless you are at a friend's house or something).
I'm planning on using cloth (but I will be using all gifts of disposable diapers I get without hesitation) but yes, please dump poo into the toilet before tossing them. Groundwater can do without fecal matter in it
- Most people don't realize that this is what we should be doing, in fact, everyone says "ewww you're doing cloth diapers!? You will have to dump the poo out!!" -yep, I will, and I will with disposables, too.
I feel like wraping each individual diaper is a good idea for diapers that have poo in them. I don't want my trash reeking, and I'm not going to the dump 3 days a week to avoid this, and we recycle so much that the trash in our kitchen doesn't get emptied very often (once every 3 days or so normally), so I don't want to have to smell that. No thanks
I do think it's excessive and wasteful to warp urine soiled diapers only, though.
I have been around babies a lot in my life (2nd to oldest of 8, and now have 18 nieces/nephews...with 3 more coming this year). One thing I cannot stand is walking into the baby's room and smelling nothing but urine and poop; I've noticed this a lot, even when people have diaper genie and other diaper containers. Also, personally the diaper genie grosses me out because you have to push the diaper in through the top section. In the beginning, the baby's poop is going to be very runny (like for the first 3 months or so) and you won't be able to simply dump it out in the toilet. I don't want to have to push the diaper into the container and have it squish out all over my hand and the container. Ewww! So, I've done a lot of research and registered for one that Consumer Reports recommends:

It's only about $5 - 10 more expensive than the diaper genie elite, but you can use regular trash bags (which is really appealing to me). It has a carbon filter and fan in it (needs a filter and 4 D batteries) that turns on automatically when you put a diaper in. That helps to completely eliminate the odor, not just cover it up. Now, I've registered for some filter re-fills and I'll get a stock of D batteries - but who knows whether or not I'll continue to do that for the long run. Nice thing is that if I don't like the sound of the fan (it's "supposed" to be super quiet), or don't really think it's necessary - I just don't have to put batteries in it. Anyway, it's all theoretical at this point since I've never known anyone with this particular container, but I just don't like the other options. So, we'll see.
Actually, I think I read somewhere that it is techinically illegal to throw human waste out in the regular garbage. Even feces are considered a biohazard. If your waste management company sends out newsletters like our does, they normally will mention something from time to time about flushing the contents of diapers before throwing them out. Does everyone do this? Probably not.
We're using disposable diapers since I get them for free. We are likely going to get the Arm and Hammer diaper pail. Our LO's and our bedroom are on the 3rd floor of our house, so we won't realistically be able to take out every single diaper to the outside garbage can.
There is a "warning" on most disposable diaper packages about disposing of the poop in the toilet before throwing away the diaper. Most people disregard this message. It has something to do with the disposal of fecal matter and it wrapped up in a diaper that will not biodegrade -- its hazardous waste.
