ideas of free stuff to do with toddler in St. Charles County

we live in o'fallon and now that i'll be staying home with my now 20 month old and a new baby for the next 10 months, i need some ideas for free, or very cheap, things to do in the area. I know of most parks. Also, are there any play groups in O'fallon that anyone belongs to?

Re: ideas of free stuff to do with toddler in St. Charles County

  • The only thing I can come up with off the top of my head is the indoor play place at the St. Louis Mills Mall.
  • Loading the player...
  • is that place crowded during the day?
  • The Mills is not really crowded during the day during the week, but it is really crowded in the evenings and on the weekends. The only time I take my daughter there is during the day on week days. They have a little train to ride, a playground, and outside of the Children's Place there is a mat that they can stomp on and make objects move. There are also little quarter rides throughout the mall, and it is nicely decorated. My daughter loves it.
  • I know this is late but in addition to what the pp said, the Mills also has a Cabellas.  There are lots of stuffed large animals to look at there like bear, dear, etc.  They also have large aquariums with fish and turtles.  My toddler loves it there.

I also go to New Town sometimes during the day.  They have a farm there and you can go right up to the fence and see animals.  There's also a playground and pretty scenery.
