Trying to Get Pregnant

Arrrghhh....frustrating....which temp to use?

My usual temp time is 5:45 but DS woke me up this morning at 4:45 and I didn't even think to temp before getting up. After I got him back to bed I went to sleep for an hour and then temped at my usual time and got 97.55. I went back to sleep and woke up at 7:10 and temped again and got 98.10

Here's the kicker. When I entered 97.55 I didn't get anything, but when I entered 98.1 I got CHs. Which should I use?

  • Looking at your chart I am guessing that you would get CH for the same day on Saturday anyway if your temp is up in the morning.

I would say go with your first temp, but maybe mark it as sleep deprived? HTH

  • Use the first temp;  The second temp is high because it is so much later than your normal temp.  A pretty chart doesn't mean you are pregnant.  You are only fooling yourself if you hen pick temps, ya know.

Wasn't trying to make my chart "pretty", all of my other "pretty" charts have ended up as BFNs.

  • I'm sorry, I didn't mean that to be snarky.  After I reread it, it did sound a little snarky.  I just meant that you should use the first temp, regardless if you get crosshairs with the other temp.  If you truly o'ed (which I think you did), it will show tomorrow when you have a temp that it is taken under normal conditions.

Thanks, I was just upset with myself for not temping the first time I got out of bed and started to panic a little when I remembered.

  • FWIW, when I get up with DD I don't find that it changes my temp, so I don't temp when I get up with her, I just do it at my normal time.  I used to temp before, then temp at my normal time and it didn't change more than the "normal" .2 for every 30 min rule.
