Random- Recs for hair stylist/salon?

I have been going to Solarus in Arlington and I like my colorist/stylist, but it is getting more and more expensive. Not to mention the fact that they gave my coat away to another client the last time I was there (with my keys and cell phone in the pockets!)

Any suggestions in the Arlington/NoVA area for a "reasonable" salon? (Sorry, I know that is vague but I guess I am looking for someone who does partial highlights and a cut for under $200. Maybe this isn't possible...) TIA!

  • I recently switched to Jessica at Lorraine Aprile Salon in Old Town and really like it. I got haircut and color for $130 and your first haircut is 50% off :-)(the $130 is the 'normal' no discount price).

  • Not Arlington, it's Falls Church, but I really like Jenny at Hair Extraordinaire.  It's in Loehman's Plaza on Rte 50 behind the 7-11.  It's an Aveda salon, everyone is really nice and it's the only place I've ever gotten a haircut that I really loved.
  • I've been pretty happy with Adriana at Hair Gallery in Roslyn.  I only get my hair cut so I can't speak to coloring there.  They charge me $60 for shampoo, cut, and blow dry.

  • I go to Ari at Salon Cielo in Landsdowne Promenade? out in Ashburn/Leesburg.  It's kind of a hike, but I think partial highlights are $90, cuts are $40.  When I started getting my hair highlighted by her, I got more compliments than ever on how amazing/natural the color was.
  • Danielle at Sugar House in Old Town.  I don't color though.
  • Kirsten @ Lorraine Aprile does awesome highlights!
