This is why doctor's offices suck

Yesterday- Get paperwork from my insurance approving my Pelvic MRI to see if my uterine fibroid is degenerating (and making me not get pregnant).  

Today

9am- Call to schedule pelvic MRI....told that they need physicians referral.

9:15 am- Call my nurse to get referral faxed over

3 pm- Get call that referral has been faxed to the MRI center

4 pm-  Call to schedule pelvic MRI....told that only the 2nd page came through and to call back tomorrow.  

4:03  -Call my nurse....she has left for the day

4:04  -Call main office and get sent to the voicemail....utter profanities

4:10  Call back and get an actual person who says she will take care of it right away.

WTF... I tried to take care of this at 9am.  How hard is it to send a frickin fax???  And why do I have to call the MRI place back tomorrow when they are open until 5.  Just because they want to leave at 4:45.  I hate them all!!!!!

    That is so frustrating.  I don't work in a Dr office, but I am an atty and have clients that call with urgent needs like patients do all the time.  I really try to realize that these things are important in their lives and at least inform them if things are going to take awhile to get done.  I wish more Dr's offices did this.

     My nurse is Jennifer.  I really can't stand her.  I want my old nurse (Mary-Lou) back.  She was the best.  

    The main problem is on hospital end (Alta Bates) where they do the MRI.  They are the ones jerking me around because they want to leave early today.

    I hate it when stuff like that happens!  I work in healthcare as does my friend that is going through IVF.  We've both gotten very frustrated with some things because we know how things should go and then how these offices don't handle it that way.  I hope you get everything arranged tomorrow!
    TTC #1 since 12/07 SA 9/08=borderline normal HSG 1/09 found R tube blocked Multiple IUIs both with oral and injectible drugs from 2/09-2/11 Started domestic adoption process in 5/10, homestudy complete 9/10 Failed adoption after home with baby for 2 weeks 11/10 Blessed through the miracle of private adoption with a son, born 6/6/11 (his grandma's bday) 7lbs 9oz 20.5 inches long! So worth the wait!

    GRRRRRRR that crap drives me insane!
    TTC since 8/07 DX - Severe MFI/azoospermia & MTHFR/ TESEs found sperm - 7/08 & 6/09/ 12/08 - IVF#1 - BFN/ 6/09 - IVF #2 - cancelled due to OHSS risk (had retrieval)/ 7/09 - FET #1 - BFN/ 9/09 - FET #2 - BFN/ 11/09 - IVF #3 with new RE cancelled twice - 10/09 & 11/09/ 1/10 - IVF #3 take 3 - BFN/ 4/10 - IVF #4 - first ever BFP on 5/13/10!!! 108 @ 10dp3dt/ 2nd beta 311!/ sono on 5/28/10 said TWINS!!!!     This sounds a lot like my day just trying to schedule the delivery of my meds for our next cycle...which we hopefully won't even need!!  So frustrating...back and forth on the phone with RE's office and insurance company 3 times!

    image 30 y/o with PCOS HSG normal, SA essentially normal (slightly low morph but good # and motility) 50 mg Clomid...zip; 100 mg Clomid...nada; 150 mg Clomid...zilch 1/10 Injectable cycle with Gonal-F, Ovidrel, and TI.....Beta 2/22...BFN 2/10 Injectable cycle with Gonal-F and Follistim (long story), Ovidrel..BFN 4/10 Injectable cycle (see above). BFP but early m/c 5w5d. 5/10 Break cycle due to BFC (Big Fat Cyst)...darn it all 6/10 Injectable cycle +IUI...BFN 7/10 Injectable cycle + IUI.....BFP!!! Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    I use to have Ann and I loved her. Now I have Sara. She's pretty good but nothing compared to Ann. I hope everything gets straightened out tomorrow morning.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.
