3 hour glucose test fasting question

If you took the 3 hour test, were you told to fast 12 hours?  Did that mean you weren't suppose to drink water either?  I am really thirsty, but I am not sure water was excluded as well... What was your experience?

    I haven't taken my 3 hr test, I take it next Tues.  I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight EXCEPT for water, I can drink that.

    You will be fine drinking water.  I did mine Monday and drank water and passed!

    I was told that I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight. I drank a bottle of water on my way to the doctor and was sent home by the tech b/c i drank the water. Not drinking anything made it so difficult to draw blood. i hope that you are able to drink water. Good luck!

    Water can affect how you metabolize the sugar, but shouldn't affect anything before.
