did you continue to follow her dietary recommendations for breastfeeding?
I didn't strictly follow it while I was pg but I aimed for the general amounts of the servings of each type of food. But 10 servings of dairy every day feels like a LOT and that's coming from a big cereal lover and cheese fiend...
Re: If you read Dr. Luke while you were pg-
No.
I saw a nutritionist recommended by my peri, and the first thing she said was to toss out that book. She said the recommendations were too high and the APA agrees that she goes a bit overboard on her recommendations.
While pg, I ate all the recommended protein but about 2/3 of the recommended amounts in the other categories ... and even with that I gained right on track with her recommendations.
While BFing I followed similar guidelines.
What sold me though is the very impressive outcomes for MoMs who did follow her guidelines. That and the fact that not much other research has been done on what women who are pg with or BFing multiples need, so to a great extent the nutritionists and APA are just guessing/estimating based on the research done on singletons.
