What exactly is lightening crotch?

And is this it?

Starting yesterday, I have had moments where I am doubled over in pain from what feels like a blow torch to my pubic bone.  It leaves as quick as it comes.  

My somewhat educated guess is that this pain is from my pubic bone widening, but I could be totally off.

    Mine is more in my vagina than the pubic bone, so lower I guess?  And feels like an electric zap, thus the "lightening" part.

    I felt that around then too. I thought that was lightening crotch, but then I read that it's something that happens at the end? I don't know what to call what was happening to me, but it definitely felt like a little electric shock!
