What do you Mommas prefer? How many should I be getting for my LO due in May? With both of those you don't need to put anything else under LO do you? They seem so convenient but I wanted to get some opinions!
DS was perfect in a sleep sack. We usually put something under it but it was often just a onesie until fall came. Then it was cotton jammies and a sleep sack.
Buy lots of those! The kind with full sleeves and a zipper are the best. If LO wets through diapers occasionally, you'll want to have a few on hand.
SwaddleMes are really nice, too. I'd get one or two of those. Not every baby likes to be swaddled, but if they do, it will help LO sleep at night.
Easier to sneak a baby into if they're asleep from being nursed and/or rocked. Plus with little to no sleep at 4am...it gets very difficult to get a swaddle right. Everything at that point becomes a little more difficult.
DD never wanted to be completely swaddled from birth so for the first few weeks we just swaddled her from under her arms down. Now we use a sleep sack and she loves it. She likes to rub her bare feet together which she can do in the sleep sack and she sleeps so much better in it. I feel better knowing that she is covered and warm. I need to buy more sleep sacks for her and plan to get the sleeveless ones for Spring. I used the Kiddopatamus swaddlers a couple times and it was much easier than trying to swaddle her in a regular blanket.
you will want both. some days all LO needs is a little extra warmth so we put him in a sleep sack and other nights he is super fussy and the only think that will calm him down is the comfort provided by a good swaddle (i like the aden + anais swaddle blankets - they are a soft muslin that doesn't get too hot)
I have 4 swaddle blankets, 3 swaddle wraps and about the same number of fleece sleep sacks. I use them all. The swaddle blankets are nice for using as a light blanket too so they are dual purposed.
Re: Swaddling Blankets or Sleep Sacks?
Get the Swaddle Sleep Sack - the perfect combination. We LOVE them.
