Kind of related...on the back of the container is says an "unpacked level scoop"...so we scoop and level it off on the side...but inevitably there is some air/space at the bottom of the scooper that doesn't have formula in it....that is what they mean by "unpacked", right? It doesn't seem right b/c it's not a "full" scoop, but I also don't want to pack it in when it says not to, but I want to make sure I'm getting the right amounts.... does anyone know what I am talking about?

Um, ok....
Well aren't you sweet....
Since I've only fed formula for about a week now, this is very new to me and considering there seem to be such strict instructions on the can, I just wanted to be sure I was doing it right. And actually putting too much or too little formula seems to NOT be a good idea, so yes, I do worry that I am doing it right. Feeding my child correctly IS an important thing to worry about for me.
Maybe you meant this to be reassuring, but it came off quite snide. As a FF mom it IS scary, our heads are so filled with tales of terror from people who made their formula too concentrated or too weak and how it affected their LO's. People come to this board for reassurance because most of us are doing all of this for the first time and are TERRIFIED.
I'll admit - I'm so relieved this question got asked. I was convinced that I was the only one who didn't know for sure if she was doing it correctly.
Is that little tiny bit a huge deal? Probably not, but when you consider that you're putting, for example, 3 scoops in every bottle, and you're feeding 6 bottles a day, that's 18 scoops. Over the course of a baby formula-fed lifetime, those are significant calories and nutrients IMO.
Maybe i'm over thinking that. But either way, I'm glad someone asked and now I know I've been doing it the correct (or at least popular) way!
Nope.
