Bathtub recommendations

The one I have says it's good for toddlers too, but I swear DS simply doesn't fit in it anymore. His legs hang out or get all scrunched up and he tries to go underwater all the time (which I think he thinks is fun) so I feel like he's really outgrown this thing: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2403667

Any recommendations for something larger or other suggestions?

  • We have the same one you do and DS is constantly pushing against the end with his feet which makes him propel up the other way...I'm interested to see if anyone has any to recommend!

  • We have this:

I have to be very vigilant in watching DS but he really doesn't slide off of it.  I just fill the tub with a few inches of water and put this thing in.  He loves it.  He can splash and kick all he wants.  Bath time is easily one of his favorite parts of the day.

  • We have a bathtub similar to the one in the original post but it felt like DD was getting too big for it at around 8 months. I just started using a bath tub seat similar to this one with DD at 8 months and I really like it. I also feel like it makes it easier to clean her "parts" and I also like that there's more water in the big bath tub. In the little bath tubs, I always felt like after I rinsed her, the water was still really soapy which dries out her skin.

Anyway, I know your DS is a little younger but it's just something to think about for down the road.

  • We have the Primo too but DS has just figured out he can wiggle out of the "seat." Sounds like everybody has the same issues!

  • We have the primo as well and used that as soon as they outgrew the baby tub like you posted.
  • Thanks for the recommendations ladies.  We are having the same problem at our house.
  • We had the same tub and ended up using it until BabyCrown was eleven months even though he was really outgrowing it.  We just kept adding more water.  I didn't like the bath seats.
  • Is he able to sit up yet?  When DD started sitting up we used the blow up Munchkin tub.  After using that for a few months we went a ahead and just put her in the real tub, and she loved that!
  • We used the Eurobath Primo linked above with our girls and it worked fine. But I gotta say, by about 10 months they were both in the big tub with no seat or anything.

If you're interested in the Eurobath, we're looking to sell ours if you're interested. Email me at frogdogny at yahoo if you are.

  • we stopped using the baby bathtub and just put DD sitting in the regular tub pretty early, I think before she was 6mo old (but I could be wrong...it's been awhile). But it was once she was able to sit up by herself. You can also maybe use a rolled up towel behind her back/neck to help her sit up. You'll still need to watch him, of course.
  • We have the Eurobath primo, we just switched las week because we used to have one similar to yours. DS loves it, he splashes and kicks his legs, plenty of room for toys, etc. We do use a sponge base for him to sit on top though.
