If you have un-paper towels...

how many do you have?  I just ordered a dozen and I know it's not going to be enough, but just curious what the "right" number might be.  I have a wetbag in the laundry room which is right off of the kitchen, but I'll probably only do kitchen laundry once or twice a week (I work full time and am only really home for dinner during the weeks).  TIA!

Re: If you have un-paper towels...

  • I have about 2 dozen......but they are kinda small.

I go thru them rather quickly, but I do end up using some as a dish rag to wash the dishes with. If I washed more freqently, I wouldn't run out, but I wash mine about once per week and occasionally do run out.

  • I had a dozen for the first year or so that I used them.  It was enough, but just barely.  They are pretty big (15x15ish), though, so if yours are smaller, I'd say you'll need at least 24.
  • I have 24 unpaper towels, but mine are small, like paper napkins. I really like them though. We use them in our lunches as napkins, and to put little snacks on and things like that. We pretty much only use them for food purposes, not cleaning. They are enough for us and I wash once per week, but it is just me and DH.

I have different rags that I use for cleaning.

  • Lots.  I honestly don't know.  3 dozen at least.  I just pick up cheap packs of washcloths when they're on sale.
  • We have smaller ones, like 10 x 10 after shrinking, and I hate how small they are.  I only bought a dozen, thankfully, because I don't use them much.

I use the hell out of 3 dozen kid washcloths from IKEA, though!
