We split one piece between the two boys, so they each get half. We spray just a tiny bit of butter on it before we cut it into small pieces (about the size of their puffs). That way they can feed themselves.
I cut the bread in half and toast only half and then cut that in half so in little squares, he holids it very well that way. He eats most of it. I put hummus, cream cheese, mashed banana or mashed avocado on it.

I put a tiny bit of butter on it which makes it soft. DS loves it! I cut the crust off and give him the center. He eats the whole piece, that's why I was wondering if it was too much.

If he's eating it, it's probably not too much. Babies are really good about stopping when they're full. If you'd rather he have something else besides the toast, I'd only offer half so he doesn't think he can eat the whole thing!
DS will eat about 1 1/2 slices of toast. Yes, he's a piglet. I'll put creamcheese, peanut butter, or fruit spread on it. I'll cut it into strips and give in like that, or if I don't feel like cleaning up a blueberry explosion, I'll sandwich the fruit spread between two pieces.
One piece. I cut the crust off and then cut it into tiny squares. I put butter on it for her, I dont know that she should be getting a lot of butter at this point, so we dont have toast very often.
Re: If you feed LO toast...
I give him one piece. I cut it into thirds and give him the strips and he munches on them.
He probably only actually eats 2/3.
