I've been having problems pumping for about a month. DD eats fine, but I just can't get anything out when I pump. I figured it wasn't a big deal since I'm home w/her most of the time, and I just supplement when I'm away.
Well, I went out of town today for a business trip. It has been
7 hours since she ate. I'm slightly engorged, but I still can't pump! I
have no idea what's going on. Very little is coming out. I know there
is milk in there, I can feel it. My pump seems to be working fine. All
of the parts are moving like they always do, and it feels the same as
it always does. I'm freaking out because I might dry up if I go over 24
hours without getting anything out until I get home tomorrow night.
Re: XP - help! pumping emergency!
I've heard that sometimes tension can affect your let-down.
I don't pump, but I've read doing things like going to a quiet room, relaxing as much as possible, looking at a picture of baby (or smelling something baby has worn, but I don't think thats possible for you) can help with let-down. possibly breast massage and a warm compress as well.
Good luck!
