I went to an infant basics class at a local maternity store today. The store is great. Big supporters of CDing and breastfeeding, making your own baby food and natural birth. Its an oasis here in RI where crunchies like me are few and far between.
Anyway, I brought my mother since my husband is... well....you know...out of the pic right now. (for those of you who are following.
I felt a little awkward being the only "single" one in the group. there were 4 other couples. It was funny watching the husbands get grossed out when the instructor talked about post birth vag maintenance and stuff....their faces were priceless as she took out some disposable underwear a dual pad with ice pack and some tucks!
My mom turned out to be pretty helpful though talking about some experiences she has had in a room full of first timers. all in all fun time.
Re: Infant Basics Class tonight
If you have any questions...maybe they answered some tonight I can help you with.....
I was reluctant when DH and I took the class with DD. I was like, "what is there to know? they poop, pee, eat and sleep"
I was AMAZED at how much I didn't know!
Well they didnt cover that. But I have gotten some great stuff just from the moms at the store there. I know you are not local so that stinks...but....they have a website https://www.bellanimaternity.com/index and they are on facebook too if you search Bellani Materinity. They have links to their blog which talk a lot about making your own baby food and other such things.
I would also pick up the book Feeding Baby Green by Dr. Alan Greene. I am reading it now and I am finding it really interesting and informative. I have already read Raising Baby Green by the same author.
Good luck!
oops, nevermind, i just read the above post and realized it IS the same place I am going! Too cool!
