I had the most amazing experience at CVS today, of all places. This will make you smile:
I walked in and there was a lady sitting near the pharmacy. She had a baby in a carrier on the floor in front of her and she was on the phone with a huge smile on her face and talking loudly. I heard her tell her friend on the phone that she'd just come straight from an adoption hearing where the judge made her the legal mommy of this gorgeous baby.
When she got off the phone I congratulated her and she told me she'd had the baby since she was 5 days old (a CPS case) and now she's 5 months. She also said that she'd expected the hearing today just to be a status update and was ready for several more months of being in and out of court, so this was a surprise. She kept saying, "She's all mine, she's all mine." I know I'm hormonal right now but it brought me to tears.
It was such a joy to see someone on the happiest day of her life.

It's gotta be the same woman - last I heard, her court date was today. She's actually a good friend of my mom's and my mom is still in school, so I haven't checked to see what happened yet. But the details are all the same, so it's gotta be her!
It really, truly is amazing. They've had a lot of ups and downs (birth mom actually got the baby back for awhile and then messed around w/ drugs), and I know she is truly deserving of that little baby girl.
