My SIL is pregnant with her 2nd and has her C scheduled for the 23rd of this month. I was invited to her shower which I couldn't attend but I did send a little gift (the Bath frog washcloth thingy nothing big).
We are going up to see her this weekend and I have about 7 frozen meals that I made and froze for her to have after the baby is born since she also has a 2 year old to look after. I also wanted to get her another gift off of her registry to bring with us but DH said absolutely not. He thinks with the meals and all of DD's clothes I have given her in the past to pass on to her current child that we've given them enough.
With her 1st I gave her a huge bag full of stuff, I just don't want her to feel like I'm not giving her as much this time around. Would you go buy an actual gift off of her registry or just say, here's the food that's your gift?
Re: Baby Gifts - Is it enough?
food = gift
She is probably not expecting anything else. I think the meals and the little gift are more than enough. However, I like to get my nieces a little something whenever I can. (so, that doesn't really answer your question!) If you decide to get something, I would say a good gift for kiddo #2 would be something personalized. #1 probably has a lot of personalized stuff from just being baby #1, and #2 prob. won't get as much.
i would say something personalized as well if you felt the need. i just got this for someone's 2nd baby as a little something extra.

i showed it to a friend last night and she mentioned it's great for a second baby, especially when it's the same sex as the 1st
This is too cute!
Thanks ladies, I think I will give her the food for now and something like that block for when he is born. Such a cute idea - I love it.
We are for sure bringing our niece an easter basket and some other fun stuff, so she is covered. :-)

this is what i was going to suggest. when the baby comes, the first time you seem him, bring a small little gift then. All the food is a GREAT gift though so you have done plenty!
