? For Those Who Have Purchased Their Breast Pump...

I am thinking about purchasing my breast pump (Medela In Style) from BRU in the next couple of weeks with a 20% off coupon (and my registry completion coupon if the salesperson is nice and lets me combine them).  Anyway, I was wondering if any of you out there got a really good deal on the Medela, what you paid for it, and where you got it.  If I can find it somewhere for less than BRU with the coupons then I won't buy it from the store.

Thanks!

  • I got the Medela Swing from target for like $144.00 my DH convinced me I only really needed a single pump but I had originally wanted the PIS

  • The coupons that come with the buyers guide for the target registry has a $20 off coupon.  Also- check on-line. I think there was a site that was an outlet or something for Medela that had it cheaper too

  • someone told me some insurance co's will partially reimburse for pumps. not sure if its true but may be worth it to look in to.

  • Got mine brand new, in the box, from Ebay.  It was about $100 cheaper than I could get it at BRU or Target, even with the completion coupon.  My insurance doesn't cover pumps.
  • I just ordered by PISA from www.lactationcare.com for $224 with no fee for S/H.  I ordered on Friday late in the afternoon and it arrived via UPS today.
  • I will be purchasing the Medela Pump in Style from the Lactation office that the hospital runs.  The price is $229 plus a nurse will teach you how to use the pump.

  • I got my PISA from www.hackleyhme.com, it was 2 years ago so I can't remember the price but it was better than BRU's with the discount.

They don't list the prices on the website, they email them to you but don't spam you or anything after that so it's not anything to feel sketchy about.

  • Brand new in the box off ebay for $207, but it included a $20 box of breast milk storage bags too.  I probably could have held out for a slightly better price, but I price stalked for a couple of weeks and I was getting impatient. ;)  There are tons on there--and if something goes wrong, and you dont' wind up using it, you can always turn around and resell it for pretty much the same price as you paid.
  • BRU has then on sale this week, i got mine for $218   MEdela PISa it was originally $279 on sale for 269 then i had a coupon for another 10% off in flyer, you can print them on there site and i signed up for a BRU Credit card adn got another %10 off. no interest for 6 months. i already paid it off cuz i planned on just paying for it anyways!!  im not picky though i got the backpack style one where as the messanger bag one was 329? it didnt matter to me the double electric pump is the same!! GL
  • I heard baby depot has a 25% off sale on Medela a couple of times a year.

  • I bought the Medela Freestyle from mommygear.com and it was $80 cheaper than anywhere else I could find it plus I had free shipping.

You have to email them for the pricing - something about them being a distributor. But the price was cheaper and they had great customer service. I'd look there and see how much the one you want costs.

  • From a post earlier in week, I'm ordering from www.awaybabyessentials.com I'm hoping to order the freestyle, and even with my 20% off through BRU, I'm saving $40 through that website.
  • I have the Medela double ease pump. I got it when the baby store in town was closing for 40. Check ebay, I often see new in package ones for really cheap. I'd also like to add that I origianlly had the double ease with DS but gave it to my sis (still using it) so I had to get a new one. Medelas work wonderfuly, I couldn't be happier.

  • Try an independent lactation store  or consultant.  You can also try a hospital lactation center.  After doing tons of research, I ended up getting the Madela Freestyle for $330 from a hospital lactation center.  It retails for $379.99 at BRU and Target.

Be sure to ask your insurance company if they reimburse for the pump purchase.  I asked on a whim and found out it is covered at 100%!  They did require me to purchase it from an in-network lactation group or hospital rather than BRU or Target.  I also had to fax in an Rx from my OB and a copy of the receipt.  Other than that, the reimbursement process was simple!
