rec your suv/crossover

so we are in the VERY BEGINNING stages of talking about replacing our truck for a second more family (and dog haha) friendly car. We have a four door car already, but want a suv/crossover to replace the truck.

whatever we get i would imagine would be used, so what do you have and love or have and hate?  neither one of us commute to work, so this would really be getting more travel on the highway when we visit family, vacation in the future, etc.

Re: rec your suv/crossover

  • We love our Honda CRV. It's fuel efficient, drives like a car, and very safe (5 start safety ratings). The back seats fold down and recline. The way back is perfect for our 105 lb dog.

  • We have a 2007 CR-V. Love it!!!
  • I have a Murano and love it.  I bought used - a 2006 so its been slightly re-designed since then.  Just wish it had a sun roof on weeks like this one!
  • here's a post from not too long ago that may be helpful. SUVs

  • I have Toyota 4Runner.  I love it, and my next car will likely be a new one.

We are a Toyota family, recalls be damned.

  • I LOVE my Nissan Rogue.  It's smaller, get's great gas milage and it's very safe, right up there with CRVs and RAV4's.  I think it's pretty roomy and drives well.
  • The main one we're looking at is the CR-V too. I'm also interested in the Subaru Tribeca & maybe Hyundai Santa Fe. We don't own any of those yet, but have done a lot of research & those are our results! We're actually going out car shoppin' again tonight in just a little bit.

There are some neat, bigger SUVs, but I feel more comfortable driving a smaller one.

  • I have a Toyota 4 Runner and I love it! I bought it used and got a great deal on it.
  • I've really loved my Murano, but in the past 6 months my <4 year old, <48K mile car has had about $5k worth of work done to it.  Thank GOD for extended warranties.
  • i was really torn between a 4Runner and a Honda Pilot for my vehicle and went with the Pilot and LOVE it. the gas mileage was a shocker to me though but i was coming from an accord Smile LOVE it.
