? for the bedrest mommas

Ok now since being stuck in bed and DH at work I'm on my own.  What do you girls do for meals?  I'm in a two story house and have taken residence upstairs.  We decided to pack a cooler for my meals and snacks.  Any  ideas on what to pack?  Or any other ideas?  TIA

  • So glad you're home! I'm a vegetarian and am allowed to make my meals during the day, but maybe you could do some chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, cold pasta salads, carrots and dip, fruit, yogurt....
  • Loading the player...
  • What pp said...egg salad, tuna salad, etc. I also had a loaf of bread and peanut butter on top of my mini fridge with jelly in the fridge. I kept paper towel/plates and silverwear right there as well. I also kept extra water and beverages in there so I didn't have to get up as much.

If you're allowed to get up at all have a lot of left overs in the fridge or microwave meals.

  • I would definitely have plenty of snacks-- fruit and cut-up veggies and stuff so that you don't get too hungry.  Maybe some cheese or string cheese?  You want healthy stuff.  Having peanut butter around is great, it is high protein and will be filling.

I also like the idea of having chicken salad for sandwiches, stuff like that.  And lots and lots of drinks, I am always thirsty!

  • I guess I'm lucky DH cooks meals for me!  I pass the fridge whenever I use the restroom, so it's nice to have something I can just pull out and eat.  I always keep fruit, nuts, and plenty of water at hand.
