Livid. Who's got the knife?!

Just found out that the sellers of the short sale we first offered on don't want to return our option check (it was written out to them). I am beyond pissed.

1.) They are the ones who dicked around, never filled out their portion of the application AND accepted a second offer on the property.

2.) The option check was to take the property off the market after the offer was accepted by the bank. It was never accepted, therefore has been on the market this whole.damn.time.

We are also having trouble getting our earnest money on this property back from the escrow company. The escrow company keeps saying they will write a check on X date if they haven't heard from the sellers, then that date comes around and they say they still need to hear from the sellers. They shouldn't even NEED the seller's consent since the contract terminated automatically on February and the contract stipulates that our earnest be returned at that point. I have a voicemail into the escrow agent about this already.

Now I have to call the bank and pay $25 to stop payment on the option check. Grrr. Just give me back my money already!

I'm so frustrated. Between these sellers and the other house that fell through, we have $1700 that is tied up in escrow and should be coming back to us. That money would really be useful about now.

The option check is $100, but it still makes me mad. The earnest money is $1000, which we should see back sometime. It's just getting ridiculous.
