I walk all day every day...literally! My job requires me to be up and walking around for 8 hours a day and last week everything was still tight and closed...I am hoping to go into labor in 2 weeks, but I know this is wishful thinking!!
I totally contribute walking 2 miles a day, 4 times a day to my progress in dilation/effacing with DS#1. At 35 weeks, I measured 1 cm and 30% and it increased from there. I was running with this one but have gone down to walking. I figured if I have a head banging on my cervix that often, it has to do something!
After I quit going to the gym midway through 2nd tri, I've been trying to walk at least 35-45 min 5 times a wk. I have my first internal in 3 wks, so I'll let you know how that works out in the dilation/effacement department. I'm hoping to not go early, though.
Im glad to hear this. I have been walking but every now and then I will have terrible round ligament pain and was slightly worried I was doing something I wasnt supposed to be doing.

I've been walking a little bit more, but that's because it's been so nice here and not completely frozen over! I do a prenatal DVD, but like when I can walk outside better. I'm interested to see if this helps you progress or not. Keep us posted on how you're doing.
Re: dr told me to walk 30 mins/day
My doctor had me doing this from the begining. 30 minutes to 1 hour is supposed to help ease labor. yadda yadda yadda
Personally I think it is crap they tell us so we feel we are doing something.
well i plant to stick with it, but man i feel lazy! ug.
