We just listed our house the other day. I'm sitting here in the living room and 2 times in the past hour people have driven by and stopped in front of the house to stare.. it's so weird! And I wonder what they think?? Maybe I should go ask them if they want to buy it
Re: people driving by your house slowly and staring is creepy!
Hannah! I was just wondering about you. Glad you got the house listed! It's super creepy, isn't it. I like when they get out of the car and stand in front to stare.
Hey!!! Haha, yeah, it only took us a year to finally do it
But, it's there... We've had 3 showings in 3 days (and a handful of creepy drive by-ers) so there seems to be a decent amount of interest... I know things slow down after the first couple weeks... I was afraid nobody would ever come though!
ETA: how are you doing?? You're in the home stretch!!
Do you happen to need any tiny baby boy clothes? I did a big donation to Goodwill but hung on to the nicer things to give to someone... they're yours for the taking if you want (there's not a ton, like a grocery bag full).
more ETA: no hard feelings if you have all you need!!
Shoot, three showings already?! That's great! All it takes is one buyer.... :-) I bet with the warmer weather and the tax credit expiring very soon you'll get a lot of traffic.
I'm good, thanks for asking! Trying to not get to anxious and just enjoy these last few weeks with just little Maggie. She's a nice distraction from wanting to not be pregnant anymore. ha. Plus we've drug our feet on some things so there's still loose ends to tie up before he arrives, though we certainly would be ready if he showed up tomorrow.
Thanks for thinking of me! I finally went through and washed everything a couple weeks ago (after a quick u/s to make sure he wasn't breech and they showed me the goods one more time to reassure that he is indeed a boy), would you believe we have more newborn and 0-3 sized stuff than we did with Maggie? Our moms and aunts have lost their minds, and we didn't even have a shower or anything. I counted and we have 20something sleepers in those two sizes alone. Good grief! Hope he's a peanut like his sister was....So all that being said I think we are actually set on clothes for the moment, but thank you!
Yeah I don't miss the drive-by's! We had one guy that actually parked in the driveway, got out and walked up to the door, opened the screen door, and put his hands up to the window on the door and peeked in! I saw him walk up and yelled for DH so he went and opened the door and I guess scared the guy. He said he thought the house was vacant!!! Ok so yes, our cars were in the garage but there were lights on and the pictures online clearly had furniture in them and they were posted days before!!!! Needless to say, I was so thankful that our house sold in 4 weeks because it was the most stressful 4 weeks ever!!!
Good luck!
Kristen,
Glad to hear you're doing pretty well.... I haven't forgotten how those last 6 weeks or so feel! Whew... wears me out just thinking about it! And I didn't even have a toddler to take care of!
LOL, yeah, sounds like you've got plenty! I hear ya on family going nuts! I still had a lot of stuff left from when Jack was a baby and kept trying to explain that to my mom and MIL but it didn't work
We're really hoping the tax credit thing will work in our favor....Hopefully with that expiring, listing at a very competitive price and not having really any real tough 'competition' it will go fairly quickly. There's only 1 house that's similar to ours in size and price, but it's on 16 and we're on a small quiet street, and we're priced lower... Keep your fingers crossed!!
So glad to hear you're doing well!!!
Hannah - congratulations on a good first few days of being listed!
I will admit I am very guilty of driving slowly, walking slowly and/or stopping in front of people's houses a lot. But if I do it's because I am admiring something and possibly stealing ideas for landscaping, paint colors or the like. I never stop and stare at the ugly ones - LOL. But since these houses aren't for sale I imagine the owners are pretty freaked by it.

Ha, we were those drive-by people yesterday! I am obsessed with a house fairly close to where we live now, and DH and I spent some time yesterday driving by and gawking.
One time we were doing this at a different house we were interested in, and the owner came outside! He was really nice, and offered to let us in. We didn't take him up on it, but we talked to him for a while about his house, the neighborhood, etc.
