BabyCrown slept with us, then in his swing before moving to his crib, but I'd like a cosleeper this time in case the family bed doesn't work out again. Does anyone have suggestions? I want one that hooks on to the side of the bed and is level with our mattress.
TIA!
Re: Recommendations for cosleepers?
We used the Arms Reach Mini and it worked out great. It attaches to the bed--we only used it as a bassinet but had we wanted to, it would have worked out fine. I think you can buy "adjusters" for the bottom of the bassinet if you need to raise it to meet the mattress.
And congrats, BTW!
what we used doesn't fit the description of what you want, but we loved it. it's called the supreme snuggle nest. tomas fit nicely in it and we put it between our pillows. DH liked it b/c he was a worried about the baby sleeping in the bed with us and the snuggle nest assured him that he wouldn't roll over on the baby. what i loved most about it is that it has a very small soft light at the top, so you can check on baby wihtout waking baby up. plus, i needed to see (for latching purposes) during nursing, and i could use this light wtihout waking DH up.
it folds up nicely for easy storage and travel. i used it many times when i was at my moms house at a nap time when tomas was still an infant. much easier than lugging a PNP around all the time.
after we transferred tomas to his crib, we used the positioners in his crib and DH used the light to get him and bring him to me for night feedings. everyone stayed pretty much asleep since we didn't have to turn on any real lights. i suppose you could find a small soft light without buying the snuggle nest, but it was a nice added feature.
I second the Arms Reach Cosleeper Mini.
it was really useful for those nap times when we weren't home. but, it's not terribly big, so i would bet you couldn't use it past 2 months or so. might not be worth the purchase just for that purpose.
tomas got booted from our bed around 6 weeks. he was a noisy sleeper (still is) and i couldn't sleep with him in there!
