I just saw this posted on another board. It's definitely a little scary, as I was planning on getting a Moby Wrap! I'd love to hear from ladies who already have one, and what their thoughts are.
The concern is the SlingRider" by Infantino. The moby wrap is not what they are talking about. The Moby is fine. the Sling Rider is not designed well and a small baby/newborn is dangerous in it.
Yeah they are lumping all slings in with that Infantino sack. Whoever designed that thing should be suffocated by one. It's like putting your baby in a handbag.
I have two slings that are properly designed (Moby and Hugamonkey) and as long as you are a conscious mom with half a brain they are very safe. It's just common send that you shouldn't smush your baby's face into your skin or the fabric and the first thing everyone tells you with a newborn is to support the head and neck.
