Due date today. . . induction set

So today is my due date, woohoo I made it.  However I am a little upset, I went to the doctor yesterday for my weekly appointment and they inform me that their policy is to induce at 41 weeks instead of letting me go to 42 weeks due to some studies that showed that the stillborn rate spikes between 41 and 42 weeks.  So okay that is fine, I don't really want to be induced but they are the doctors.  So the nurse says she will have to call me and let me know when they scheduled me, when she calls she tells me that they set it for the 11th, Really the 11th, that is two freaking days overdue.  I refused and made her re-schedule it for next week, am I crazy for pushing it to next week?  They gave me the 16th and I am considering asking them if they can push it off any later since they have done no tests or anything to see if the baby is unhealthy or too big or whatever.  I just feel like they are doing it to make it easier for themselves.  I don't know maybe it is just my 9 month pregnant hormones

  • No you have every right to turn down an induction but I am curious to know how you made it 40 weeks without knowing or asking about your doctors policy on induction?

I asked at my first appointment and the doctor said 42 weeks, they changed their policy shortly after that but I never thought to ask a second time because they had already told me
